Doesn't say abridged anywhere in it. This version of the book is a school edition - it's 'abregee et simplifiee'. Go elsewhere if you want Pagnol. Mass Market Paperback Verified Purchase. I urge anyone who is comfortable reading French to read these books.

Not only is the story and the sequel "Manon des Sources" great, the language is very easy to understand for a person who feels confident speaking and understanding French and wants to take it up a notch.
